We shot triathlete Chris Lieto for a Living Magazine Cover and Spread for Outside Magazine. Not only did we shoot the print edition of the magazine, but we are also making a living version to give you a glimpse at what a magazine of the future might look like.
Here is a quick teaser to whet your appetite. Stay tuned for the final version which will be released with the October issue of Outside Magazine.
Also, don’t forget to join our Living Art Contest. Make your own Living Art and move us with your image!

Great way to push the envelope in new media, and how images get to the viewer, can’t wait to see the issue in October.
Thanks for sharing the video, this kind of things are always instructive and encouraging.

Looks stellar. Couple of questions:
1. What light are you using on the jeep? HMI?
2. What was Ted Schilowitz doing there? Did you just find him on the beach?
Thanks, Jesse. We used a modified Briese 100 light from B2Pro as a frontal fill light and a Profoto 1200 HMI as a kick from camera left. The B2Pros are really terrific key lights. If you come from a photography discipline, you will really appreciate these lights.
Ted was kind enough to come down and spend a really gorgeous day at the beach with us.

Alex – Great stuff. I’m a big magazine lover, but I’m needing reasons to buy them off the news rack these days. I’m going on-line more and more and so I see the need for the industry find ways to make people stop and buy on-the-spot. BTW, the term is “whet your appetite” not “wet.”
Thanks for the correction! I type pretty fast sometimes. Curious-do you actually read long articles online?
